Loop Earplugs x Andrew Footit
I am really happy to share this collab I worked on with Loop Earplugs. I was asked by Loop to work on their very first Artist collab for a limited edition pair of Loop earplugs. The project included a custom Loop case, packaging as well as some campaign collateral.
When I was initially asked to work on this project I had a few ideas, however, I had one idea that I really wanted to try get over the line. This idea was to try and achieve a pair of loop earplugs in a recycled plastic look, achieving this in an actual recycled plastic material would have been an extremely lengthy and costly exercise so the next best was to achieve the look and feel of it.
I visited the Loop team in Antwerp and we had a good discussion on the possibilities we could achieve and we started to get to work.
I worked on a texture that proved tricky to apply in traditional printing methods on the loop products and we almost dropped the idea completely. This led to water transfer techniques and applying the texture through a water transfer process. This process gave each Loop a unique look so no one loop will look the same.
I really wanted to give this Loop edition some extra customisation options so I asked if we could have a custom pair of Mutes as an addition. The loop team were excited about this so we developed a set of 5 different colour mute sets which you can use together or interchange colours to make your own colour combinations.
The Experience Loops are primarily used in Music festival and concert situations so these Loops are widely used in a more fun and relaxed environment where the users are more playful with what they might wear. This was a big factor in making this collab about customisation and creating something quite unique as a wearable.
It turned out so good, and the product quality is incredible as well as the packaging which feels super premium in a matt finish. Im really grateful to the loop team for having me on board to create their first Artist collab product.
